Infusion & In-Office Therapies
Southern California Rheumatology offers a convenient, safe, office-based infusion center for patients who need IV therapies or in-office injections as part of their treatment plan.
Our infusion center is staffed by experienced, qualified nurses who work closely with your clinical team to oversee your entire infusion process from start to finish — delivering IV therapies and injections for rheumatologic and other conditions in a comfortable, familiar setting.
What You Can Expect
- Quality, attentive care from a dedicated infusion team
- Clinical excellence backed by an on-site provider
- A convenient alternative to hospital-based infusion
- Comfortable, electric adjustable chairs, Wi-Fi, snacks, and available television to help the time pass comfortably
- Easy, convenient parking
What Happens Next?
Once your provider determines that IV infusion or in-office therapy is the right course of treatment, our team submits a request for treatment authorization to your insurance company as soon as we receive the necessary clinical documentation. Approval timelines vary by insurer, but please allow 2–4 weeks for processing. If a request is denied, we’ll work directly with your provider to file an appeal — this may extend the timeline, but our team is tracking your authorization every step of the way.
Will It Be Expensive?
Out-of-pocket costs vary by insurance plan and may include copays, coinsurance, and deductibles. Your provider may also require lab work or imaging, such as X-rays or MRIs, before your first infusion or injection. Our staff is well-versed in financial assistance programs, and every patient is evaluated for available funding. A member of our Financial Counseling Team will reach out directly to review your eligibility and walk you through any expected out-of-pocket costs before your appointment.
Getting Started
Once your treatment is authorized, our nurse will call to schedule your first infusion appointment and walk you through what to expect, including directions if needed. A few things to keep in mind before your visit:
- Let us know in advance if you’re currently on antibiotics, feeling unwell, or have an upcoming or recent surgery or dental procedure — for your safety, we may need to adjust your infusion schedule.
- Continue taking all medications as prescribed by your physician.
- Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment to help prepare your veins.
- Feel free to bring a personal device, headphones, reading material, or a light blanket — and don’t forget a form of payment for any copays.
Personalized, Coordinated Care
Our team handles every detail of your infusion so you can simply relax and focus on feeling better. We look forward to seeing you soon!
